Rights, Equity & Public Policy

NCCWJ works to protect and advance the rights of women and girls through research, policy analysis, public education, and advocacy. We examine laws, policies, and institutional practices that create or reinforce inequity and promote reforms that expand rights, access, opportunity, and equal participation.

Safety & Freedom from Violence

NCCWJ works to prevent and address sexual violence, domestic and interpersonal violence, harassment, exploitation, and other forms of gender-based harm. We support survivor-centered approaches, public education, institutional accountability, and policies that strengthen safety, dignity, and access to resources.

Education & Opportunity

NCCWJ works to expand educational access and opportunity for women and girls, from school through higher education and career advancement. We focus particularly on barriers affecting low-income women, student parents, first-generation students, and others whose educational opportunities are constrained by financial or structural inequities.

Economic Security & Mobility

NCCWJ promotes the economic security and advancement of women and families. Our work addresses employment, income, caregiving, access to public benefits and essential resources, financial stability, and other conditions that affect women’s ability to achieve long-term economic independence and opportunity.

Health, Dignity & Well-Being

NCCWJ supports women’s ability to make informed decisions about their health, bodies, and lives. Our work encompasses reproductive and maternal health, menstrual equity, food and basic-needs access, and other conditions necessary for women and girls to live healthy and dignified lives.

Access, Inclusion & Systemic Equity

NCCWJ works to remove barriers that disproportionately affect women and girls because of poverty, race or ethnicity, disability, geography, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, caregiving responsibilities, or other intersecting circumstances. We promote accessible institutions, equitable systems, and meaningful participation in community life.
